Design is not optimal, and push on iPhone only work when you are "away" on desktop.
IM is a core communication method for our business, and this app has been a great tool for keeping in touch out of the office.
Havent crash yet, could be better if the home screen icon will shows the correct number of pending message
The new design is pretty good. It does what it says, reliably. Has some cool features that other chat apps do not. I like the info tabs in the chat, where you can see all files / links. I do have a problem with the new chat on desktop... Sometimes I cant click stuff.
Amazing app and service. Stable and reliable ! Makes multi location offices extremely easy !

Some bad moments

Only usable on wifi, due crashs and freeze on cellular networks (3G).
:-( It used xmpp internally, but does not connect to other xmpp servers!
I want to use the app for the communication of our companies developing team, but there occur some major issues in Connectivity in open wifi networks. If we use it at home or our company wifi, there is no problem. But in the wifi of the city or for example of the local university, it is not loading any messages. I suggest it has to do with some port stuff. But i am confused, because whatsapp for example is working properly, so a "simple" chst app like hipchat should work too, if you ask me. This could be fixed in the next release, we would prefer that.
The current version crashes constantly, at least every time you send a message. Its utterly unusable this way. Not acceptable for an "enterprise" application. Notification behavior has always been horrible and is brushed off since 3 years with "thats the best possible with iOS limitations". Apparently Slack, WhatsApp and even Skype can do it quite well on iOS. Its just bad design on Atlassians part. Nothing else.
One of the most used features is the picture upload to send screenshots to my team. This does not work with the current version!
have to use hipchat a lot for work. the desktop client is bad enough but usable. this iphone version is practically unusable: when i need it to connect to a chat, it just gives the spinner which stays there forever, when other apps have no problem connecting to network services. and this happens virtually every time i tried to use it. no other choice but to stop trying. sigh.
