Unreliable, clunky

If you want an app that makes you look like an idiot this is the one. You will get the joy of seeing messages from ten minutes ago populate above your response after sending your message.

You will also get the joy of frequent outages, alerts that sometimes show up and sometimes dont.

You will sometimes have important messages and an app that is telling you you have no new messages until you enter the room and check.

It is bad enough that IRC was proposed as a possibly viable replacement for non technically inclined employees.

Slack is twice as expensive, but it works, unlike hipchat
