Dont do it!

The iOS app is just as bad as the new v4 desktop app (and the desktop app is next-to-useless). Notifications of new messages are little to non-existent.

Ding you have a notification of a message. So you unlock your phone and go into the app. What? There is not a single sign of who just messaged you! You have to go back to your phones Notification Center, find the HipChat item and then see whom it was. Or page through all of your chats until you see something new!

I would advise staying away from HipChat. Ive given them 3 years of my time and they have yet to impress me with a single update.
