I like the idea and its nice to have separate rooms per account. But not being notified when I get a new message is a real pain.
I like the idea and its nice to have separate rooms per account. But not being notified when I get a new message is a real pain.
Still no indication on which room has an updated conversation. Just some more useless features. When icon is badged indicating activity there is no way to tell which conversation was updated, have to manually check every single one.
This is the worst messaging app available I cannot believe anyone would even use this. I would not use it if my company did not force me to. Fix the notifications when someone sends you a message you cannot find it there is no way of knowing who sent it. This is a lousy app if you are evaluating this for your company look else where.
The app badge shows unread messages but the app itself does not highlight the person or room with messages.
When Im not on my work Mac, all I get is app icon badges for notifications on my phone even though I have lock screen notifications enabled and badges, sounds, and banners set up in iOS settings. Im missing messages at work because of it. The app itself is fine but if I dont have my work Mac up I dont see messages. Please look into this guys... its frustrating.
We use Hipchat for a Fortune 500 team with hundreds of people. It has been awful for us. Messages get lost due to poor notifications, no visibility into recent messages inside the app, etc. Some money really needs to be spent on usability and customer satisfaction analysis. In the meantime we will be migrating away from the tool this quarter.
I only get new message notifications a small percentage of the time, which is very frustrating. New messages often take a while to load when I check a conversation or room.
This is a truly awful messaging app. It all starts with replying to a message. There is no sort order to the contacts list, so it is painful to find the right user to reply to — it is as if the app is optimized for people with about five contacts. Ive got dozens, if not hundreds, of people I message and I want to find and respond to peopleq quickly. Slack gets this. It is slow. It fails hard when internet conditions arent perfect (frequently failing to send messages — and then double or triple sending them. Thanks.). I dont know why youd use Hipchat if not forced to by your company. And it sounds like this is a really well known issue.
HipChat app crash every time I type a message, and send. Sometime before send is typed. After restart app, the message I typed was in failed to send, retry mode if I managed to hit send button in time. Should be zero star.
You get a badge notification but once you open the app you have absolutely no way of knowing who tried to contact you. This is a very basic functionality that they utterly fail at. Also, you cant change your availability status from the app?! Only from desktop or browser. So if you forgot to change your status when you step away from your computer all your colleagues have a mistaken understanding of your actual availability, leading to misunderstandings and lost productivity. These are just two issues that drive me crazy. The purpose of this app is communication, collaboration, and productivity, and this app fails at all those objectives. I dont even think it even improves on the 30-year old text message.
Terrible app. Notifications are non existent - I am missing very important messages all day. This is a functionality that is basic - completely baffled why my company would move to this messaging platform.
This is worst app ever. I cant believe my company pays for it
It is inexcusable that, Slack, Facebook Messenger, and Skype all support quick reply while Hipchat does not. Why should I have to actually open the app to reply to a message? The 3D Touch implementation inside the app is just lazy. Application performance also needs to be addressed.
This app is crashing for every message. Not usable at all. I have no idea how anybody ships software like this can cal himself an engineer. You guys just dont even have a code. Pull this off of AppStore and stop embarrassing yourselves.
The mobile app is simply unusable. It is an embarrassment to lack both functionality and reliability. Get it together.
No notifications. Total frustration when used with a business.
9 out of 10 times when I open the app and go to a conversation, it crashes. And since its been like this for over a year now, it doesnt feel like Atlassian uses any sort of crash reporting tools or cares at all. The app is also slow to connect, slow to respond to touches, and it fails to send messages when internet conditions arent perfect. Something is seriously wrong with this app...its architecture needs a complete overhaul.
If I wasnt consistently forced to come back to using this app by my employer, I would not have it on my phone. As a matter of fact, I delete it out of frustration frequently. Not only is this app buggy and unreliable (and has been for the last year and a half since I was forced to start using it) - it has directly led to me missing messages, meetings, and other important work correspondence because of its horrible and inconsiderate UX and engineering. You should be embarrassed of your work.
This is probably the worst software I have ever used in my life. Please save yourself from frustration and simply dont install this garbage. Whats bad? Notifications almost never work, disconnects, unable to see even simple text file attachment, cannot edit or delete message, etc. etc. I really wanted to use it because of JIRA integration, but its simply i possible to use it.
Fails to provide reliable notifications when people are mentioned, rendering it essentially useless. For an app designed for developers, Id expect better.
